“It's astonishing when people first arrive and are apprehensive about getting down in the dirt, but once lunchtime rolls around and we rinse off all the onions, potatoes, salad greens, and tomatoes and cook a delicious meal, you can sense the transformation and appreciation once they realize the importance of nourishing themselves with fresh food and knowing where it comes from.”
-Robin Saunders, Volunteer
Beginning in 2012, Noonday Farm has partnered with The Winchendon School to offer an innovative experiential and direct service hands on program for high-school students. During the fall, Beth runs an afternoon program at the farm with 14 students which engages them in the work and connects them to the deeper understanding of how to be of service to those in need. This year alone students from the Winchendon School have invested 1000 hours supporting the farm. Thank you to all the students and faculty for your support and hard work!
